Cycle care programmes

Long periods of inactivity can cause many problems for any vehicle. Engines and transmissions can seize or corrode internally due to contaminated oil; clutches and brakes can lock on; tyres can deflate and perish; the suspension may settle and the electrical components can cease to operate. Due to these potential problems, we offer a full range of mechanical care programmes that can be tailored to suit individual customer's requirements.

Our normal 30 day cycle care programme surpasses AA recommendations and comprises the following operations:

Weekly - roll the vehicle to prevent seizure and wear of tyres; check tyre pressures; depress brake and clutch pedals;

Monthly - check all fluid levels; prepressurise engine oil and start engine; give light exercise on private or public roads to circulate oils; check operations of all electrical equipment including air conditioning (where appropriate). On completion, a full report is prepared for the customer identifying any remedial work that may be required.

Although we recommend that the above care programme is carried out on a monthly basis, its frequency and content can be tailored to the customer's requirements. A full range of complementary mechanical services is available.

Exterior and Interior Preparation

Prior to any lengthy period of storage we recommend and offer a full exterior hand wash and leather dry. This is offered free of charge where the period of storage exceeds 3 months.

We also offer under body power wash, degreasing of engine bay and applying preservatives to protect exposed components and exterior waxing. In fact, we can offer any service to ensure that your vehicle is looking its best when you come to collect it.

Supervision of Restoration Work

Should your vehicle require any restoration work, we have close contacts with several specialist restorers, catering for all marques. We can supervise any work that you require and transport your vehicle to and from the restorers. Please contact us to discuss your particular requirements.
