Mechanical

Long periods of inactivity can cause many problems for any vehicle. Engines and transmissions can seize or corrode due to contaminated oils; clutches and brakes can lock on; tyres can deflate and perish; suspension may settle and electrical components can cease to operate. Due to the potential problems, we offer a full range of mechanical care programmes that can be tailored to suit individual customer and care requirements.

Our normal care programme surpasses AA recommendations and comprises the following operations

Weekly - roll the vehicle to prevent seizure and wear of tyres; check tyre pressures; depress brake and clutch pedals;

Monthly - check all fluid levels; pre-pressurise engine oil and start engine; give light exercise on private or public roads to circulate oils; check operation of all electrical equipment including air conditioning (where appropriate). On completion, a full report is prepared for the customer identifying any remedial work that may be required.

Although we recommend that the above care programme is carried out on a monthly basis, its frequency and content can be tailored to the customer's requirements.

Coachwork

Prior to any lengthy period of storage , we strongly recommend and offer a full exterior hand wash and leather dry. This is offered free of charge when the period of storage exceeds 3 months.
